Bio:

Alison Watson MBE is a land surveyor and the founder and Chief Executive of the award-winning UK education consultancy, 'Class Of Your Own.' She created the innovative “Design Engineer Construct!” (DEC!) accredited learning programme for secondary school students aged 11-18. This program is supported by leading companies, professional bodies, and universities through the groundbreaking 'Adopt A School' scheme. The DEC programme has expanded its reach to young people all around the world.

In 2019, Alison received an Honorary Doctor of Engineering Degree from Heriot Watt University and was made an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. This recognition was bestowed in acknowledgment of her unwavering commitment to built environment education, teaching, and learning. Furthermore, she earned the 2019 Middle East Consultant ‘Editor’s Choice’ Award.

In 2018, in recognition of her perseverance and dedication to education, Alison was honored with an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in Her Majesty The Queen’s New Year Honours.

Bio:

Ms. Maitha is currently the Director of the GIS Center department at Dubai Municipality. She holds the distinction of being Dubai's first female Emirati drone pilot specializing in 3D mapping. After undergoing rigorous training, Maitha obtained her professional drone pilot license from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Geographic Information System (GIS) with distinction from UAE University in 2012. Maitha furthered her education, obtaining two master's degrees—one in City Science and another in Big Data and Business Analytics. In 2019, she successfully completed the National Program of Artificial Intelligence.

Recognized for her exceptional achievements, Maitha was selected as one of the top 20 young individuals among emerging talents in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for the year 2021. This prestigious recognition is reserved for individuals under the age of 35 who have demonstrated outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Serving as an RICS assessor/trainer and the Regional Chair for UAECICES, he demonstrates a strong acumen for successful surveying business operations. Chris is a respected industry figure with a widespread network of global contacts.

Bio:

Aaron Addison serves as the Executive Director for the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) Secretariat, where his focus is geospatial industry outreach. He collaborates with companies and organizations worldwide, addressing challenges related to the policy, implementation, and communication of geospatial data. With 30 years of international experience spanning the public and private sectors, NGOs, and higher education institutions, Addison not only leads the Secretariat but also provides leadership for WGIC activities in education, workforce development, digital twins, and the recently initiated GeoAction Africa project. This project aims to examine the contributions that geospatial tools and services can make to countries in Africa. Beyond his operational and project management roles, Addison staffs the WGIC Policy and Industry/Academia committees, working to bridge the gap between education, research, and the geospatial industry.

Dr.Eng. Khaled Nabbout

Bio:

Dr. Eng. Khaled Nabbout earned his Ph.D. (Dr. Ing.) in 2007 from Dresden University of Technology in Germany through a collaborative research project with the International Institute for Earth Observation & Geo-Science in Enschede, Netherlands. Since 2006, he has been serving as the national delegate in Commission 3 for the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG). In 2008, Dr. Nabbout assumed the role of Technical Director at the Arab Union of Surveyors. In 2011, he was appointed Ambassador for Foreign Arab Surveyors in Europe for the FIG steering committee.

In 2007, Dr. Nabbout became the Business Development Manager for the international Nasdaq company FARO (www.faro.com). Since 2013, he has been the co-founder and General Manager of Mena3D, a German company headquartered in Regensburg, Germany, with offices in the Middle East and North Africa.

Additionally, Dr. Eng. Khaled Nabbout played a pivotal role as a senior planner in a Borderline demarcation project between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen in 2001.

"Dr. Tarig A. Ali is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. He earned his PhD in Geoinformation and Geodetic Engineering from the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geodetic Engineering at the Ohio State University, USA, in 2003. Prior to joining the American University of Sharjah, Dr. Ali served as an Assistant Professor at East Tennessee State University and the University of Central Florida, USA, from 2003 to 2009.

Dr. Ali's research interests span Geo-information Science (GIS) and Digital Mapping, Geospatial Informatics, and applications of Geospatial Technology, including Satellite Sensing Systems and Global Navigation Satellite Systems, in Smart Cities. He also specializes in Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI). Dr. Ali has been honored with numerous awards, including the 2023 Earle J. Fennell Award by the United States National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), the Duane C. Brown Jr. Award from the Ohio State University in 2003, the Murrough O'Brien Education Award from the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association in 2004, the ETSU Faculty Excellence Award in 2005, and the Esri Award for Best Scientific Paper in Geographic Information Systems in 2006.

Alshimmari, chosen by the UAE government, represents the country in the Government Upgrade Program globally. With a Ph.D. in Urban Planning Policies, she has actively evaluated 5000+ projects and engineers in international competitions. Notably, she served as Director at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and has judged prestigious awards, including the Emirates Young Scientist Award in 2023.
